Olympics in Chicago
Chicago's bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games has the support of some of the world's most famous people such as President Obama, Oprah, MJ, and Michael Phelps. Of course that must mean everyone is jumping on board and hoping for the same. Unfortunately, in a recent poll done online showed that the city is split. So if their is a low public support then why are they pushing so heavily for the bid? These celebrities only care about their front row seats they'll be given. Of course the Chicagoans will have to deal with the even more brutal traffic, possible jobs given to people hand picked by Mayor Daley, and not to mention the money that will be spent on construction to pay for everything. Why not take those billions to put into the schools, hospitals, and even the infrastructure. I just don't think this is something our country needs to be taking on with our current economic status. This is one situation where the city needs to listen to it's residents.
